Week 18-20 in Finland

So these weeks have been very interesting ones indeed. It’s the start of a new year, many of the past semester’s students are gone now, but I’ve already started to meet some new cool people. I also have new courses, one in GPU programming and one in data analytics software. I’m also attending a course in Finnish so hopefully, I’ll be able to do some small talk in Finnish before finishing my studies. For me, these first weeks have been fun but at the same time, it’s been filled with a rollercoaster of feelings. It’s starting to stabilize now and…

Week 11-14 in Finland

TL;DR: The last month in a summary The last month has been a hectic one. It has been full of interesting events both on the personal and the academic plane. There have been developments on the master thesis work, I’ve been in contact with the marketing coordinator of Åbo Akademi to discuss further exchange between Sweden and Finland, I’ve presented a speech about going abroad at an international afternoon event. At the same time, there has been a lot of fun going on at the personal plane as well. There has been some great parties, beer pong tournaments and movie…

6th week in Finland

It’s now the 6th week in Finland and suddenly I can really feel that the autumn has come. It’s beginning to get colder in general, the leaves have shifted color and started to fall, and everyone seems to be increasingly more busy with university assignments and exam preparations. During this week the tempo has in many ways felt like it’s slowing down just a bit. I’ve been mostly at work with different studies but have also been able to pay for a Finnish sitz, discussed details about the thesis work in Jokojo and been to a Fantasy sitz at Nyländska…

Now living in Finland!

Okay so maybe I’ve been living here for one week already, but it has been so much going on so that I’ve not really had the time to sit down and write about the days until now. My first week here has summarily consisted of traveling here, going to a lot of daytime activities where different parts of the university have been explored and seminars been held. On the evenings there has been a lot of activities, either ice-breaker where I’ve met a lot of interesting people or games or pub rounds or parties. So far I’m having a really…

New theme for the blog, I hope you’ll like it!

As you might see the blog has gotten a new theme. I thought that this was a needed change since the last style didn’t allow me to use pictures in the post without it looking really weird. So now you can expect more images and visual traits to future blog posts! I hope this will…

Sports anime is way underrated!

I think that sports anime is a genre of anime that isn’t really getting it’s deserved the amount of hype. Unlike series such as Naruto, One Piece, One Punch Man and many others there doesn’t seem to be a lot of visible fans to the many awesome sports animes out there, or at least that I’m aware of. I wouldn’t really consider myself a huge otaku person and I’ve probably only seen a 30 or so animes in total (including both series and movies). But I would say that I’m the kind of person that really enjoy a good anime…

Vallby open air museum, sheep delight!

Today I’ve been to Vallby open air museum which is a place where people living in the city can see and experience the life of the late 19th and early 20th century. There you can see houses and shops from the time and animals of a different kind. Now the sheep have just given birth to a lot of incredibly cute lambs, so I just had to see them and take some photos. I hope you’ll like seeing them as much as I did! I also added some super short videos (actually live-photos), someday I’ll create real videos for you…

Global living, a really cool place to eat or buy stuff

If you’re looking for a really interesting place to eat reasonably priced sandwiches and drink really great coffee then I can really recommend the café Global living. Yesterday I tried eating breakfast there with my girlfriend and since it was the first time I went there it was really amazing. The place is filled with interesting objects and almost all of them is for sale. This concept is one that I’ve not really seen that often before and at the moment I can’t really think of a time at all. So if you’re in Västerås, Sweden or in its proximity…

Walk at red rock

Today was a calm day at my parent’s house which started with a great Easter brunch. There were herring, egg and cheese sandwiches and other things you’d expect in an easter meal. After brunch, we decided to take a walk at red rock. This is a place in Gothenburg that is famous for its red rock, which might not feel like much of a surprise. During the walk, I found some quite interesting things to take photos of, and I only took one picture of the red rock. During the trip, we also went by car through different areas in Gothenburg.…
